New SEO Score Algorithm

To improve accuracy and usability, we’ve updated the SEO Score in mDI:

  • Clearer and more actionable: The new SEO Score only considers issues that users can fix, like broken links or missing meta descriptions.
  • More relevant: Parked or unreachable domains now have a score of 0, eliminating confusing or misleading results.
  • Better weighting: Site-level and page-level tasks are weighted for a more realistic view of how optimized a domain is.

The score still ranges from 0–100 but now reflects actual, fixable SEO issues, making it more useful for prioritizing work and comparing domains.

Where it appears: This update is reflected in the SEO Score and SEO Level metrics across the mDI platform.

Organic Traffic KPI Improvement

We’ve made the Organic Traffic KPI more relevant for global users:

  • Localized traffic data: Instead of defaulting to U.S. traffic, mDI now uses the domain’s WHOIS country to retrieve traffic estimates from SEMrush.
  • Smarter fallback: If no WHOIS country is available, U.S. traffic estimates will still be shown.

This update brings more accurate traffic insights to multinational clients tracking domains outside the U.S.

Interactive Charts in Analysis View

We’re improving usability in the Analysis view by making the pie charts interactive:

  • Hover to learn: You can now hover over slices to view tooltips with label info.
  • Clickable insights: Clicking on a pie slice applies the corresponding filter in the database view — just like clicking on a label.
  • More clarity: Highlighted labels and slices make it easier to connect values to visuals.

These upgrades help users better explore and filter data directly from the visual charts.

New KPI: Language

We’ve added a new Language KPI to help users understand and filter domains based on content language:

  • Content-based detection: The language is detected from the website’s homepage content.
  • Standardized format: Data is saved using ISO 639-3 language codes, but UI will show human-readable names.

This KPI unlocks use cases like identifying specific language segments (e.g., Chinese-language blogs).

Where it appears: The new “Language” KPI can be used in your Recipes and Analysis. It is also displayed in the Properties section of the platform, and is updated weekly.

Easier Sign-Up with Google

New users can now sign up for mDI using their Google account, making onboarding faster and simpler:

  • Skip the passwords: One-click Google login removes friction for new users.
  • Fewer drop-offs: More accessible sign-up = better conversion.

This is part of ongoing improvements to simplify account creation and reduce barriers to trying mDI.

Where it appears: The mDI sign-up page and onboarding flow now include the Google login option.
